A Statement For Subtlety

In art, we try to distinguish ourselves for others with crazy, obnoxious, but OBVIOUS designs. This video of Project Runway contest Sean Kelly shows that he tackled a rain challenge by sewing dye into the seams of his dress.

When the model walks down, the water releases the dye, and it is absolutely amazing. It’s such a subtle answer to the challenge, but it’s extremely creative, and takes a new spin on how to perceive a solution to a problem.

That is what architecture is about: experimenting with materials and challenging our preconceived notions about architecture and space.
